This advanced tutorial will build on the basic tutorial, guiding you through additional options in NoveList Plus, including accessing book discussion guides, using the Readers' Advisory Toolbox, and using folders to save your results.

Do you remember how to find NoveList from our website? If so, go there now. If not...
Hover over "Find Info" on the left side of the blue menu bar with your mouse. Left click once on "Books & Literature" under "By Topic."
Voila -- it's the first option! Click on the NoveList Plus icon to enter.
And after the basic tutorial you thought there couldn't possibly be more...
Hover your cursor over "More" in the orange menu bar in the top left corner of the screen to see several additional options.
Want to search for read-alikes by author? Click on the "Author Read-alikes" option.
Ever forget those pesky Dewey numbers? Click on "Dewey Numbers."

Next, let's explore the ever useful book discussion guides.
Click once on the orange "Home" button in the top left corner of the screen.
Look to the far right on your screen under NoveList Resources, and click on "Book Discussion Guides."
Challenge: can you limit your results?
Click on a book title in the center of the page and peruse the information that a book discussion guide includes.
There are also featured articles available from NoveList.
Return home by clicking on the "Home" button in the top left corner of the screen.
Look to the far right on your screen, and left click on "Feature Articles" under NoveList Resources.
Do the narrow results options look familiar? They are the same as those for the Book Discussion Guides!
Click on an article title in the center of the page and scroll through -- enjoy!
NoveList also has a number of handy professional resources.
Look to the far right under "NoveList Resources" and click on "Award Winners."
More award lists than you could ever wish for! Notice there are "Popular Awards" (for adults, teens, or children) and "Awards by Genre."
Open an award list to get the feel of it by clicking on the list's name.
Look to the far right under "NoveList Resources" and click on "Common Core."
Scroll down and read the summaries in the center of the page. To the right there are video tutorials that assist you with everything Common Core.
Click on a grade level and browse the many options NoveList offers.
Look to the far right under "NoveList Resources" and click on "Readers' Advisory Toolbox."
Take some time to gander at your options. Click around -- have fun! Of special note are "Learn about Genres" and "Book Display Ideas."
Look to the far right under "NoveList Resources" and click on "Teaching with Books."
Spend some time exploring this content. Don't miss the "Tools for Schools" on the far right, which include a lexile chart and standards by state.
First, you need to create an account. Click on "Sign In to My NoveList" in the top right corner of the screen.
Then left click once on "Create a new Account" next to the login button.
Fill out the form and then click "Save Changes."
At this point you should be logged in.
Once you have an account, you can set your preferences.
Left click once on "Preferences" in the top middle of the screen.
You can set these preferences and save them with your account. Don't forget to click "Save" at the bottom of the screen before you exit!
Type in a basic search on anything.
In the middle right you will see a folder. At this point you could save all of your results to your folder. Click on "Add (1-30)" and you will see several options. (Note: you must be signed in to see these options.)
You could also save just a single item. Click on the title of an item in your results list. In the middle right you will see an option to place this item in your folder. Click on the folder icon. (Note: for this to work, you must be signed in.)
You can save book discussion guides, series, book display ideas -- just about anything! The folder button is always there.
Let's go into your folder, where you will save all of your nifty finds. Click on "Folder" in the top right corner of the screen. (Note: to see your folder, you must be signed in.)
In your folder you will see anything that you have saved. You will notice that you can create custom folders by clicking on "New" near "My Custom."
You can also move your items from one folder to another. If you select a book or article, and then click on "Move To," you can re-categorize your item.
