Welcome to our NoveList guide!
This guide will help you navigate the NoveList site and teach you how to find great books and more information about your favorite authors and series.
Need help using the guide?
To get to the NoveList site from the library’s home page, hover over "Find Info," then choose the "Books & Literature" section.
The first site in the "Books & Literature" page is NoveList Plus! To get to it, you can click on either the link or the icon.
Now that you are in NoveList, take a look at the home page. You might immediately see a book cover that looks interesting!
On the left, you can find lists of "Recommended Reads" to get you started looking for all kinds of books -- fiction, nonfiction, kid's books, and more!
Feel free to play around! When you're ready to try searching for something, just use the "Search For" box at the top of the screen to continue with this tutorial.
Searching is the easiest way to get more information about your favorite authors and find books similar to the ones you love.
The Basic Search allows you to enter author, title, series, or "all." You should enter only one type of search (author, title, or series). If you are not sure what you are looking for just leave the search setting at "all."
Can you find out what order a book is in a series with NoveList?
The Advanced Search allows you to combine the search for author, title, and series and to limit by year, gender of the author, or Dewey number for nonfiction subjects.
Once you have done a fiction search for a title you will see a display of your results. Part of this display is five tabs going across the middle of the screen: Books, Audiobooks, Series, Authors, and Lists & Articles.
Other types of searches or nonfiction searches will display tabs with other names on them.
The Books tab is the default display and will list the titles in your results.
The Series tab will list any series that are included in your results.
The Authors tab will list the authors that are included in your results.
Lists & Articles
The Lists & Articles tab will show you any other information about the author and it includes articles and awards won by the author.
Below each title are links. Under the Books tab there are often four links. Three of these are read-alike links that will help you find books that are similar to the ones you like to read. The fourth link is for searching the library’s catalog to see if we own the book.
